TV On The Radio were the absolute shit. The best! There is literally nothing better than watching a group of musicians who really inspire you with everything they do. Makes me very sad that due to moving out and having to afford my own place (which I am continually procrastinating on, sigh.. some things never change ! ), etc my plans for music lessons have had to take a back seat. But, soon! Anyway, the show kept me going inspiring-things-wise for now, it was comprised of an excellent choice of songs and they did this re-stitching together of tunes I already loved, which worked but is so hard to explain. In short, if they're going to be anywhere near you, go and see them! And you will see for your very self... The venue was the Muffathalle, it was my first time there and I found it a really decent set-up, for starters the sound was incredible.. but there was also a really good view.. :) in fact, I think I'll be hard-pushed to better that show this year, but time will tell... reason to go to more gigs I'd say..

A whole lot else, quite simply, hasn't been occurring of late. I know, this is an unfortunate theme of my posts lately but I'm counting down the days to some trips I have planned in summer. How exciting ! Then, I will surely have more to write about, you have my word... as a small point of interest, I spent most of this evening decorating cakes, if I have to see another cake again in the next year I'll scream like a banshee.. but before I entered cake hell via a caprese salad and many dayglo sugar-based cake garnishments (sugar high, lolz), I popped quickly to Tollwood for the afternoon which was really nice. Caught up with a friend and wandered around the festival, had a couple of Aperol Sprizz and then wobbled off home on my bike. Also, I set myself the task of cycling from my house to the Olympiapark which is about an hour each way. Got a tad lost in both directions, but otherwise am pretty pleased with how my navigation of the city is coming together, one point me ;)

Anyway, it's 2am and I have just over 12 hours before the house is full of 30 screaming 5 and 6 year olds.. so to bed for me. Have song 10 though, and a song that makes me fall asleep, in a good way, Mogwai have always been my favourite relaxingsleeprecord... :) I remember the first time I heard this song like it was yesterday, so clear... it was somewhere around 4am on MTV2 late night, I immediately downloaded the album and have been in love ever since <3

A tad perfect or what.. :) xx

Found out TV On The Radio are playing here next week, so freaking stoked :)) other than that jewel in a rather dull looking crown, not much to report. Went dancing to Kultfabrik last night, it's still a complete hole.. surprise surprise! By the time everyone else wanted to leave I was in the not-so golden hour of no trains so had to hang around a bit.. only an hour or so but I got chatting to some people who were nice enough.. felt a bit weird being there alone though and got me thinking about situations that are simply not that acceptable being alone in. So then why does every little British town have a resident old guy that's always out on a Sat night alone ?! At what point does that stop being weird and become normal for them, if it was me I just wouldn't bother because everyone else still finds it, and by association you, weird ... ? Needless to say, after returning finally home about 5 due to falling asleep on a train (sigh.. will I ever learn?) today has then been a total writeoff.. I've accomplished nothing on my to-do list except sleep. Lots. The weather's been shit so I've not even been able to go cycling, sniff :((( never mind! I still have Lots Of Very Important Things To Do ie, find somewhere to live (!) so I guess I can use tomorrow and the continuing rain onslaught to make some inroads into that.. we'll see...

Anyway, I've just been told I have a couple of hours to myself, the family have relatives staying and I might not even have to babysit, scorre :)) although I will definitely just sleep again rather than use the time productively, of that I'm sure. Sometimes it's the best just to sleep! Wish I hadn't left my onesie in the UK.. :'(

Whilst I'm here, have song 9 and a song I can dance to. I love the first Friendly Fires album so, so much <3 it's just a damn shame the newest one is worse than being bad and has strayed into mediocre territory.. I honestly think I hate mediocre music more than bad music, at least the bad makes you feel at least something towards it.. so here's a reminder of times past.. :)

Sitting at a table feeling kinda nondescript. So many things going on! First off, I've decided to call time on the aupairing, and have made the family aware. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, my host Mum was really nice about it and I think she understands that I'm doing too much and that it's just time. She's been showing me some prospective new people and it's all very exciting. I'll be sad to leave the girls (they don't yet know.. hmm not sure how that's going to go..) but for now I'm really happy with my Kindergarten job and still have a long way to go with my German abilities.. also, I've not seen the half of Europe and my brother is moving not that far away in Sept, so it seems the obvious choice to stay here a while yet. Just.. get an afternoon job, find a flat and be a rent-payer, do bills, have housemates, you get the idea. I guess it's a good thing I really enjoy all that self-supporting stuff and also enjoy testing myself as completing the whole exercise in German will be the hardest thing I'll have done so far, definitely whilst I've been here and possibly even in life thus far :/ here goes...

Other news.. many shoestring-budget trips to plan on a brain-saving-sanity exercise.. they say travel is the best education you can get, so I'm going to explore whether I agree. There are so many places nearby, and I was so good at popping away for the weekend when I was in England. So why not repeat it here.. this means I've bought guide books to Ljubljana and Zurich, to somehow commit myself to going. I'm planning to Mitfahr and Couchsurf my way around to save the pennies but also get a more "real" experience of the way of life in a city. Hopefully I won't encounter any murderers.. and if I do, I guess that kind of experience is character building, I need a bit of excitement! (Don't really want to meet murderers)

As for life right now, I'm supposed to be moving a new bed into my room to get it out of the way for my family.. so best get moving. I'll leave you with the next song, although 30 days is suddenly seeming like a lot of days. Too many days! Anyway, here's a song I know every single word to for day 8, apply this also to the album which I've not listened to in so long, strange considering it was my favourite album for so many years. Interesting how our tastes change, but atdi will always be rather special to me, in the kind of way I already know it, and don't have to listen to them all the time.. :) would have been nice to post a proper video rather than a picture but the only live performances I could find were so shambolic I didn't think they did the song justice, so here..

ps, Spent the next hour after posting this listening to Relationship Of Command on full blast, it had been too long, so freaking awesome... a reminder of what was, and what can be re-attained indeed. Big smile :)

I have 12 whole followers! How odd. Thank you for following me, and please be aware that my adventures these days are a little less adventure, a little more sitting down with a cup of coffee.. either way, welcome :) I hope you enjoy my interminable ramblings. And please thank yourselves for inspiring me to write today, for I should do you the honour of at least posting once in a while, non?

Today finds me back in England, for various reasons. Mainly, I'm at this whole life crisis crossroads point but less about that, as all I've been doing is thinking about it and I'm bored of the words constantly buzzing around my head. I'm sat here eBaying some pieces of past lives away to pass some time and get some extra pennies, as it happens. What they don't tell you is, although a great idea, eBaying takes forever and is so freaking boring! Those people who made millions on it must have gone mad long before the extra zeroes were added to the old bank balance. Yawn...

Not a whole lot has been happening, apart from me working my whole life away. Due to being a complete fool at times, I found myself in a position where I had three jobs and no time to breathe. There was a period of time where I actually felt like I was on the verge of having some kind of mad episode, and so I paused everything for a bit, quit the least demanding of my three jobs and came back to England to just sit and be in the countryside. So far, it's lovely! I have a whole lot of nothing planned, apart from a shopping trip and dancing session with friends up in Bristol. Any other things I end up doing, will be things that present themselves to me rather than things I seek out. So happy to essentially be doing nothing! Ah, nothing... it's been too long my old friend.. ;)

In other news, looks like I might just have a kick-ass summer. Not entirely sure what the plans are yet, but I've made a vow to myself to use all my free time (of which there will likely be much, well.. more than usual) seeing places that aren't so far from MUC, this means anywhere within about 4 hours drive. So far Zurich, Milan, Ljubljana, Frankfurt and Prague are possibles on the list, and I'm so happy at the prospect of seeing more of my almost surroundings. Keep you posted..

Anyway, tired and fed up of goddamn eBaying for now. Going to take a break and make one of my family members cuddle me! For that is what being around family is all about.. in the meantime, have a song from this challenge I keep forgetting about, something that reminds me of a particular event and the offical song of Day 7. For some reason I play the first Mystery Jets album every time I move out of somewhere.. I love it, and love them, Mystery Jets are just magical, or should that be were magical as their newest album was freaking terrible. How annoying :(

This week's been a mischung... had my first bike crash, enjoyed the sun, told off some rude people, found a whole new area of the city that I LOVE on my newly-adopted travels as a Cycling Commuter, did something that truly terrified me on purpose (cycling in the forest at night, as you ask.. or even if you don't), got my brain cut into pieces (not literal) by a constantly screeching child, got happy for no real reason (not that I was massively sad but.. yknow), had a wee beer at a beer fest, heard from some potential visitors, felt too exhausted to do anything but lie down, took some time to just breathe and appreciate everything, made a few plans... the list goes on.

Tomorrow and the weekend see a whole lot of things I can't quite be bothered to write about, just now. Although a helicopter just went over my house, I guess that's news. Also, I've been sorting out the old photo collection, in order to purge my poor camera of all the pictures stuffed on it. Hopefully, this will jog my memory somewhat of things I've been upto recently, and I'll therefore have a little more to write about. Blame the screaming child... brain no function..

Hmmm... I'm tired and need sleep, again blame the child. Oh! I also have terrible accidental self sick making alcohol stories, but I've not quite come to terms with those yet haha. In time you will know...

And now, have a completely non-consecutive day in the challenge. As we left things a whole nearly 2 weeks ago (!) with day 5, here's day 6 and a song that reminds me of somewhere. Not feeling particularly imaginative right now, plus I do have a terrible short term memory.. so let's pick my kitchen, whilst eating a bowl of cereal and having a dance, every time the family are out. This song never fails to make me happy, the words in particular own life.. although the video disturbs me somewhat and doesn't really fit as far as I'm concerned.. sorry little boy! See what you think though ;)

Happy almost Saturday...

Today started as a disastrous one all round, but surprisingly I've turned it around a bit and am now in a super good mood. Zum Beispiel, I forgot my phone, there was a confusion at work which was then solved, I fell up the stairs pretty spectacularly, that kinda thing. But perhaps as a result of this faily beginning, I've spent the afternoon finally picking up my newly-serviced bike (that I got for free donchaknow, score one me), finding my way home on said contraption, and doing PRODUCTIVE SENSIBLE BANK ACCOUNT RELATED THINGS, and have made a couple of decisions with regard to things I'm going to go back to (hint: not the UK (sorry) more of the musical persuasion.. so freaking excited! More on this as it develops..) and am now listening to Total Life Forever incredibly loud, about to have a bath and currently have the coldest beer known to man in my right hand, that I unexpectedly found in the fridge. Life, whilst back to the template of boringness known as "normality" after all that happened last week.. is pretty OK at this precise second!

So, the gap in posting then.. my netbook touchpad is severely broken (boo hiss) and I'm too lazy to buy a replacement as yet... this means I am having to operate my whole computer with keystrokes, how retro. Good job I'm fairly competent with our robotic laptop friends and can actually even do this I suppose ! But also, I find myself kinda reluctant to spend yet MORE money because, in more exciting news, I've had loads of visitor types :) so.. in-between running away for the day to fairytale castles and such (€€), catching silly amounts of trains (€) and eating rather too much stodgy German food (€€€) I've not really had time to slope off and write anything. I'm sure my 8 followers will understand, it doesn't pay to be rude and ignore guests in order to type a blog, now, does it... but I have had fun, and will tell you about it.. however.. I do find that this leaves me in a bit of a pickle writing-wise. The reason for this is, that so much has now happened I'm never going to have the patience to write it all in an average of 5 paragraphs. Hm! The logical thing would be to split it all into manageable chunks, but the danger with this is that my memory is such a sellotaped-together pretender these days I'd probably forget it all. I guess it's patience vs. ongoing bad memory-finder, and I think the patience is going to lose ha. So I will most likely make a list, and start today by adding a picture of Neuschwanstein which was certainly the highlight of my excursions...

Isn't it amazing ! I know many places where the pictures look so much better, and after a whole day of travelling you turn up to this two foot high thing and think.. well I paid €2837 or however much to get here.. ?! Wtf etc, but I can safely say that this picture doesn't even do the view justice one percent! If you get the chance to go DO IT, it was the inspiration for the disney castles and, although it costs about €2837 to get in (we just walked around, the view was good enough), and there are the obligatory other fifteen thousand tourists with their clashy clothes combinations, pushy tendencies and bad B.O. problems it's totally worth all that, just to be able to set your eyes on not only this castle but the other one that was built just down the valley.. apparently when you're King Ludwig II only 84375676474 castles will do, there are at least another 3 that I know of, all built with the state of Bavaria's money of course... ! Terrible for those that had to starve at the time, but makes for a rather good yarn nowadays, don't you think? Of course there are many other facts I could add but, mainly, I forgot them all and to be honest... I want my bath now hah :p before I post today's song (song "challenge" fail) here's a shot of castle number two:

Anyway, enough about pretending you live in the medieval times (la la dream music....), as more than anything the hill up there would take at least 28 days by horse and carriage.. and it would be most draughty alone there, although apparently a family still live in one of the wings today. How cool, yes you may send me a letter, my address is Fuck-Off Huge Castle, Massive Hill, Middle Of Bavaria, Germany.. ?!

So, day 5 on this silly thing that I'm wishing I hadn't started and a song that reminds me of someone.. well, obviously being a popular chap such as myself, I couldn't just pick one person ;) so... I therefore pick precisely 7 other people, and more specifically the snowy week we spent in Centre Parcs 2010, as well as many subsequent cidery nights in front of Rock Band.. enjoy :)

First things first, MY IPOD IS FIXED :)))))))))))) a big thankyou to my friend Becky, I am considering employing her as my Official iPod Saver (TM) <3 <3 <3

Other than that, feeling posi-posi-positive if a little itchy-footed (metaphorical, not actual :p). Pretty uneventful weekend, went dancing at this amazing Dubstep night Friday but got a little lost and ended up paying a small fortune for a taxi home.. babysat Saturday night and had a couple of really mind-clearing chats with people - one on my very own porch, one with someone I'd not spoken to in too long.. crossed a couple more locations off the old S-Bahn line project today, but this was mainly due to both places being ridiculously dull than any kind of productivity on my part. Met a couple of friends a little later for a short sit by the Isar, until the sun started disappearing and it got a little cold. Walked home.. hm.. feeling that life, if good, is a little humdrum at the moment.. I guess I've just got used to everything now, and something that was originally novel has just become real life. I don't suppose I find my own daily life all that worthy of being written about, I'm too busy working to do much exploring these days, and not (I hope) narcissistic enough to define myself as any kind of Captain Wow-type..

(This would be the perfect place to put the captain wow clip from Black Books up.. but I can't goddamn find it.. fuuuuuu internet..)

Anyway, this boring lull should hopefully not last any longer than about four days, as I'll be having a fair few visitors in the coming weeks. Really excited to see some sorely missed faces as well as use their time here (and co-inciding time off work, scorez) as an excuse to get out and about exploring again. What fun :) I will update you as and when interesting things happen...

In the meantime, I've become a little bored already with the song thing but perhaps it's cause I found this one really hard. Day 4 is a song that makes you sad, and there was no context.. did they mean sad in that you hate it..? I'm pretty aware that, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter a bit, but I couldn't think of anything I hate that much. So I chose a song about something I was reading about for a while, and it's the subject matter that makes me sad, even if the song itself I find really beautiful. I guess it makes me sad in that thinking-about-stuff way when you've just finished reading about serial killers? Not sure where I was going with that.. but anyway, I'm off to watch an episode of Being Human which I've become rather obsessed with of late. Have a bit'o Sufjan, and marvel at his talent as I do, whilst being kinda pissed off you weren't born like that, as I am. Ha.

I hate the following expression but: I'm exhausted. I'm alone with the girls for 3 days and the thing I've found out is that I never, I repeat, nevernever, want to be a full time housewife.. it may come as a shock to you to hear ;) I just don't see the joy in it?! Does that sound nasty? I really don't mean it that way. I love the girls, I really do.. but, I think I hate feeling needed by anyone. I guess I just like the possibility of being able to swan off and do something if the whim strikes. Not that I always take advantage, but it's nice for it to be do-able. Blah.

In brighter times, the weather is following the pattern it should do in life and doesn't in the UK.. that means spring > summer > autumn > winter like you read about in books, and therefore, it is SUNNY and I am HAPPY if also TIRED. Both friends and family will be gracing my presence in little over a week, so you can add a rather large whack of excitedness in there too. I wish my day to day life was as interesting to write about. If you're particularly interested, and to mention them for a third time (it's as if they're my friends?!) I have realised the frogs in the pond are actually toads. This makes me feel a little grosser about all their eggs, I'm not sure why. Blame Kermit, he's all cute and puppety, do you know a cute and puppety toad? I think not..

Right, bored of this now but was aware I didn't post anything yesterday. I'm well aware this, cough, "challenge" (as if, climbing Mount Everest is a challenge!) doesn't state 30 consecutive days, but I know what my habitual self is like.. besides, we all need bad posts to compare the good ones to and so know there's such thing as good, anyway. So there. (I'm even re-using material. Terrible..)

Day 3 then, and a song that makes me infinitely happy. IF ONLY I COULD LISTEN TO IT ON MY iPOD which is currently being retarded and unlockable and therefore in the doghouse. By which, I mean in my bag with me silently pleading that the battery will run out soon, so that the next time I charge it it will magically unlock..? I was just saying how vital it was the other day too, famous last freaking words.

I'm going to make myself feel better about the whole affair by dancing manically to this, and so should you.

A quick'en, as I've found myself feeling somewhat rubbish, and not even Sufjan Stevens can help me, even though he's been trying his very best. Thank you Sufjan, but please go away now and no you can't follow me into the shower :(

I've therefore come to the conclusion I need sleep er, nowplz as I did in fact oversleep for work today. Plus I seemed to spend 68.23% of my time catching up with myself so not the best of days, but we all gotta have them.. to compare the good ones to and know there's such thing as good in the first place. So there. :p

For continuity purposes, the froggies have stopped (SCORE) and pissed off somewhere (hopefully under the tyre of a passing car), but in their place is the most ridiculous amount of frogspawn I've ever seen, to ensure the whole sordid business continues next year. Result :|

All in all, boring day, the high(low?)light of which was watching Louis Theroux return to that bat-shit crazy family in Kansas that go on about God hating gay people/jews/elephants/everyone. If only they knew that what they are doing is indeed 100% disproving their own theory.. because if God existed, surely he'd have sent some snipers to mow the fuckers down by now, eh. Good for a few laughs at a) some exceedingly poorly constructed "fact" clusters masquerading as arguments and b) what it's possible for children to look like (shudder) after generations of inter-breeding. I wonder if any of my army of 8 followers saw it? Do let me know your thoughts, if you feel so inclined..

Anyway, not feeling particularly on form word and/or lifewise so not going to tippy typey tap along a whole lot more. Instead, I'll just let the words of this monstrosity describe life for you, OR NOT. If you relate to this song in any way, then good for you, I'm glad you finally found something after spending so long being misunderstood etc etc but please find the "close" button on your little internet window and use it accordingly. Like, now. Cheerzzz..

Henceforth I present to you day two, and my least favourite song of all time / candidate for worst song ever. Including Rebecca Black. (nb. If you are in aforementioned epihphany of understanding, and have been recently living under a rock, you might want to check her out too.. )

I find myself halfway back on 04/04 at 23:31, although this is mainly due to being woken up for the FIFTH night in a row by randy frogspawn-spawning frogs in the pond, GO AWAY PLEASE, :(

Some things.. I started this weekend with heatstroke (fail) but ended it by finding out that someone I really didn't like actually pissed themselves, so six of one, half a dozen of the other. I'm attempting to recover from the former by thinking about the latter and laughing heartily as much as I can. Hahahahahhaha :)

Anyway, something I've been thinking about for a bit.. in order to forcibly hit myself around the head a little with the old writing inspiration.. I'm going to delve a little (ergh.. delve) into tosserish territory (yeah yeah, more than usual, let's pre-empt that one right there) and complete something of a thirty day song challenge. I say something, it's title is Thirty Day Song Challenge so I guess that's actually exactly what it is. I've seen it around on That Shitty Blue Logoed Website That Nobody Should Talk About In Real Life, but have major qualms with having to post something on TSBLWTNSTAIRL every day. So, this is a fingers up to Zuckerberg, and a step along the selfish road of rediscovering music I forgot I loved so much. Enjoy, or don't, I will :)

So, day one.. my favourite song, which incidentally I am going to use to put myself back to sleep, ahh....... <3

And we all went to heaven in a little rowboat, and there was nothing to fear, and nothing to doubt.x

So here I am, on the same aerated bed I've flopped down on a thousand times over. Feeling the need to craft a little something... a full five months (.....OH OK and a half, goddamn you're pushy) after Oktoberfest, and life has seemingly carried me away over the little horizon it calls, well, itself. I guess I just felt a whole lot too "internet" for a while... me and said contraption have always had somewhat of a rollercoaster-relationship, I love what it can do but hate those who feel the need to broadcast every second of their lives... then felt I was doing just that ha. What a flamin' hypocrite, I know. Today, however, I got this little flutter-writery feeling in the pit of my belly.. the one that tells me to get immediately to putting word from head, down arm and onto some kind of paper.. generally, the times they are a'changin so I guess I wanted some sort of record. I've not put finger to key in months, I ran away with the Real Postal System for a while so perhaps I also miss the blogging process a little. Perhaps I don't, but I think it will take giving it a go again to find out. A little sidenote.. I have found myself to be rather more of the blogface sheepdog of late, with a rather hefty 8 followers (baa)... therefore this is dedicated to you, if you happen to be on that listo exclusivo. Have a biscuit, and what were you thinking?! I'll be honest when I say I'm as yet undecided on whether I'm "back" or not... but in the meantime, please bear with me whilst I figure out how words work again. :)

A starting point, then...so life is good, and it is great. Things are taking off a little, or at least they have that feeling about them... the summer is reappearing, and that makes me happier than I ever thought it should. In summary, lots of writeable stuff has happened... lots of unwriteable stuff too, mainly due to boring-ity than any kind of debauchery. I am currently roombound (voluntary, say no to slavery) at the end of a day full of day-trips, which sounds like the stuff of dreams, and in some ways was.. but I can now actually feel the accentuated bags underneath my eyes making themselves known.. saying that, I guess this is the sort of territory that's always explored when one suddenly finds oneself with three jobs... more on that later, and get your thoughts outta that gutter, if you please.

At this moment, there are a million other things I should be doing. Mainly working out, which since the seconds ticked across from 2010 to 2011 has become a daily occurrence in the Life Of Me.. with a week or so off due to being Super Stupid Sick. Still, not bad I'd say, and even if you disagree I'm so very proud of myself so couldn't actually give a shit.. :p and honestly, I can't begin to describe (present date excepted) how much more energy I have as a result, and how much happier I feel. Using this stupid iron willpower I have for something useful instead of just being generally awkward for fun, is much more worthwhile. Having bought my first size 8 item of clothing in two years hasn't been altogether unpleasant either.. ;) so, note to future lazy versions of myself: you love exercising! So why in the hell are you making excuses, put down the chocolate bar, get up and get running nowplz.. and for now, I give myself some amount of life points, I'll let you decide how many if you really have the botheredness. I also would like to suggest that if you do have the time to think about that, you could probably do with some kind of hobby. Jus' sayinnnnnnnnnnnnn

As for a small recap of other things that may, or may not be where I left them.. I'm still in love with that time of day between daytime and darkness, and endeavour to walk in it as often as life allows - I am specifically super happy about this time no longer being around 3pm. I've recently renewed the U/S-Bahn project I started all those many months ago, and have visited about five new locations, some of which were diar, some of which were wonderful.. but I guess that's just the world for you. Friends of mine have left, other friends have taught me how to knit... I've not met a whole lot of new'uns but am happy enough with the people I already know to not be bothered about that, too much. If anyone new I meet is at all enthusiastic about the knitting constantly in my hand, I instantly know we can be friends. New friendships sussed in just over 30 seconds, no effort required, sweet <3

Not to blame other things or anything, but to blame other things the original main hurdle with regards to my posting was actually my camera. Which decided, after I made a whole bunch of cool things I saw into pictures using it...(something I kept forgetting to do before, as it happens...) that it would stop turning on and therefore make said pictures unreachable. I wanted to add more pictures, so that you could see what I was seeing, even if the picture never does do the beautiful thing you've seen in person justice. I was tres upset at the whole spectacle, anyway...until I went hungover shopping one day and came back with a new one.
So, here's to a pictureful life, and to working out a way to get the (by the way awesome) pictures I already took off what is essentially now a useless piece of circuit board. Woohoo.. :|

Anyway.. that's some of where I am at the moment. Enough for now. I know it's not extensive. I know that I've not really even made any sort of dent in what's actually been happening.. but I know that if I leave this much longer it will be forever resigned to the graveyard that is my drafts file, cause my eyes are hurting and I sorely need some sleep. To surmount my original hurdle, at the beginning you will find a picture, fresh off the press from yesterday. Little Elly in the forest.. :) and I'll get around to the other stuff when I can.. maybe. If you're really that interested, hell, ask me!

Here endeth some words about life (mine).. I hope that life (yours) is going well..

One blog in a whole month then, wow, that's pretty crappy. Although, life hasn't been on fire with writeable opportunities... but that doesn't mean one page in thirty days is nothing short of lacklustre. I guess this just sums up the mood I'm always taken by as the nights draw in, I hate this time of year more than any other...I find it so hard to get motivated to do anything other than lying down, and more than anything I want endless balmy evenings dammit >:(

Anyway, to justify things a little I guess I have still been writing a fair amount, just elsewhere...and for those of you about to receive little bits of news in the post as a result, I hope this doesn't spoil things for you somewhat...... :/ I'll try and commit to screen what I fail to do miserably in real life...that being attaining the air of being cool and mysterious. Well on the way to being 25, I have realised that I will never be either of these things in reality..... :p (and that's really OK)

There have been various highlights of this last week or two, since returning from Spain. Firstly, there were my visits to the Tierpark, or Animal Park auf Englisch. I'm really not a fan of Zoos per se, but this place is really nicely done, the animals are so well cared for and seem happy, healthy and with enough space to themselves. The place is massive, and as a result I ended up going twice in two weeks - but with money to buy food and souvenirs, as well as entrance paid it was more like a nice treat rather than work ;) the girls were all really well behaved, and we scoffed crepes and were generally happy whilst pointing at various species. THUMBS UP

Next, there was the purchase of my beautiful polka-dot dirndl, which at €99 sounds expensive...and, on a meagre wage such as mine, pretty much wiped me out for a week or so, but taking into account the average one is about 300, I think I did really quite well. Plus, although a proper traditional one would be lovely, I'd only throw beer down it (come on, I would...I throw cans of soft drink down myself regularly, and I haven't even been drinking then) so the fact that it's a little cheaper means I'll be less gutted when it gets ruined....an inevitability, unfortunately, if you happen to be a posession of mine.

Talking of which, a complete and utter lowlight is that my beautiful postcard purse that I loved, only cost me a euro and I was always getting comments on was STOLEN by some light-fingered tracht-ed up PRICK and I find myself googling replacement postcard purses pretty much constantly. Of course these are all closer to about £20, but I'm never going to get the €1 steal that I found in H&M one cold windy Wednesday morning. However, I loved my postcard purse, and will do whatever I can to replace it, even if it's only the kind of replacement that's never as good as the thing you lost in the first place. Also I've had to replace all my cards, which in German is kinda difficult but I managed. (And on that note, if you care I actually finally managed to get a Maestro debit card after 5 months....only to have it cruelly snatched away by Thiefpants McGee, AWESOME)

Next, I should totally talk about Oktoberfest but I think it deserves it's own entry. I might try being a whole lot less like the lazy trout I am becoming, and load some pictures with my blog entries. Everything just looks a whole lot more, I don't know, proper I suppose when that's the case. Unluckily for you, pictures are still on my phone, and as that's downstairs and I'm upstairs it's looking a little unlikely right now. I will try harder next time :p and you will get a guaranteed extra entry all about Oktoberfest, if you care :p

As for exciting things that give me money, I started a paid TEFL position yesterday and star another next week. So happy! I will be using any money I receive to a) save something - I miss being able to with my whole being - and b) enrol my slightly expanding arse in a Gym, which will also give me somewhere to go on these cold, windy mornings when I've taken to solid reading. Which, by the way, is lovely (just finishing the unedited version of Anne Frank's Diary, then will be starting Brave New World.....followed I think by The Hobbit...it is my new goal to become well-read) but not such a friend of the waistline, especially when combined with rather a lot of beer, and a fair few pretzels (which by the way are just beautiful...mmmm).

Anyway, as usual I've started this at stupid o'clock so I will finish now at 00:37. Here's to being happy, setting goals before the big 2-5, and rediscovering albums you once loved...specifically Morning View. (Saying that I wouldn't be averse to any music suggestions, as although I love him so, all I seem to be listening to is Darwin Deez and I guess that seems a little more appropriate for summer, which as much as I'm trying to deny it, it ain't no longer :p)

Ciao ciao

As ever, Im starting this when I have other things I seriously need to be doing. Most of the time, this means sleeping but this time, I've already decided to completely surpass this most wonderful yet time-consuming of activities and pack/walk/sit into the night in preparation for the ridiculous amount of travelling time I have on the way to my incoming INCREDIBLE holiday to Spain. SO EXCITED :)))

Anyway......things have been happening left, right, centre style and I've once again not
done them justice by committing them to webpage. This is something of a travesty, as my
memory is such a terrible contraption these days that I'm sure to have forgotten some of the
most important details, instead plumping for generalisations and diluted recollections. So, right about now then. I'm sat in my newly moved-around room (sweet), the lighting is set just the way I like (fairy), and Bombay Bicycle Club are doing their pretty thing background-wise. I've had some rather excellent news recently, in that I have my first TEFL teaching position in the city. It's well paid and the school is really well known, so I'm rather stoked to use a completely American turn of phrase that I'd never say in real life/ever. I'm also pleased that I've not had to resort to streetwalking for extra money haha, and as it's only an hour and a half a week I can also look into other subsiduary occupations. There may also (everything crossed here) be potential for extra evening classes. I'm looking into pursuing some work experience that could turn out to be rather important to my future plans. If anything, I've become a lot more determined to spend my time positively, instead of just sleeping in and going for a daily cycle.... :p

Other good stuff, some of those people I'm lucky enough to call friends have decided to grace me with their presence! I am really, really looking forward to showing people around, am currently toying with possible itineraries and feel like I have some of the knowledge now to show them a good time. Here's hoping.......

Other than that, I went for a few super-fun nights out, which again I am well aware I keep omitting. Well, it seems all so very trivial to be writing about which places I drank beer in when I could be talking about something cultural?? Maybe this is just my pretentious gene making itself known however. I would have thought it would be happy with a re-read of Dorian Gray, apparently not...

Anyway, firstly we revisited Cord, which I think is my favourite club here so far. Every time I've been, the music has really been spot-on, and we can't argue with that, now, can we. I also regraced the glass-strewn floor of Neuraum, which was much better the second time round, I even managed to have a rather large dancing session in-between avoiding shards of ex-cup. If only the phantom glass-breaker would stop his/her assault on the floor the place might even be upgraded from "passably fun" to "really quite good"...however he or she is rather too good at fulfilling his/her Official Glassbreaker title to stop anytime soon I fear. High Heel Carnage :(

As for other activities I also went for a lovely little afternoon chill out in the park one Sunday. The weather was so pretty, we all brought food and sat and cooked it on a friend's tiny BBQ, whilst just chatting about...well, everything, really. Good times, good company :)

Ten thousand years later....

So, now times have changed somewhat and I am currently camped in Alicante airport awaiting my flight back to Memmingen, the airport most in the arse-end of nowhere, anywhere in the world, ever. It is currently 9.10pm, and my flight is at 6.35 tomorrow morning. If only flights weren't just every 3 days, and I could have left when my friends did, this morning - but never mind - in fact, I have my own bank of benches, my netbook, a ridiculous amount of reading material, a pillow, a can of beer, a blanket and all the people-watching fodder (including a maximus amount of arguing sunburnt chavs) I could ever imagine, so things are looking pretty good right now. Ask me that in 8 hours however... :p (nb. the beer so kindly donated by my friend X's Mum is to be saved until I'm just about to get on the plane, HATE FLYNG)

This week has been just what I needed. I really haven't been doing a whole lot apart from topping up my tan, or in fact bringing it back from the abyss that it was in before. Going on holiday to someone's house is always a difficult one, in fact I think both me and my wonderful hostess X ;) found it difficult to relax at first...but once I got into that headspace, things were great and I can feel already that transferring back to a less lying-down based existence is going to be tough tough tough. I hope she found the same conclusion to the week that I did. I am, however, yet again determined to drag myself back to ultimate fitness, as I failed by a hairs-breadth in preparation for this getaway and have so many clothes that "only just" don't fit...I will succeed! (And now have to, as I've written it down...if you know me even a little I can't stand empty blah words of things that people are just never going to do...I refuse to be one of those people heh :p)

We went for a night out in Benidorm, which was not nearly as bad as it sounds. We sacked off the foreigners section and all the people who are paid to get you into their clubs (seriously, it got kinda scary at one point, so persistent!) and ended up in the Spanish bit - much more fun, much better music and of course, a beach just across the way which was how we ended our night...get all dressed up and then kick off your heels and swim in the sea in your pants, perfect :)

Other highlights, we went and walked around the old part of Altea which was just beautiful. A lovely little churchyard and tiny winding alleyways with trinket shops open till 11, and caiparinhas to die for. Acee :) and, we rented a pedalo with it's own slide. The loveliest view and only €12 for the hour - certainly worth losing my brand-new sunglasses in the sea for ;)

OK, so I've now been at this for a little while and my batt is running more than a bit low, I'm also trying my hardest to mix things up a bit on this most epic of waits. This means that I'm off to read Company magazine (good GOD I've missed my crappy British glossies habit), followed by the unedited version of Anne Frank's Diary that I stole from my friend X. I guess I'll probably then try to sleep for a couple hours, due to a) me being back at work as soon as I land and b) it being the leaving do of someone I'm very sorry to see go that night. It's then Oktoberfest. Cheers life, for throwing a whole bunch of stuff at me in one go...x

Ps, Re; fitness comment. Taking into account Oktoberfest I am rather le worried about Copius Amounts Of Beer to Increasing Waistline ratio. Here goes, I'll keep you posted :/

Ridiculous few days...in the nicest possible way! Only yesterday did I actually stop, and this was of course also the moment I realised how tired I actually was and began to fall asleep whilst playing mini golf....

So Friday the week before last saw a fair few things, mainly the end of my camp career for this year plus the arrival of my Mum and sister for a few days. The second week at camp was a lot more difficult than the first in that I had a group that just refused to listen no matter how loud I shouted, in English or German, and this resulted in a rather balls-dropping-esque voice for most of the next week :( ...However I guess it's still experience and, eventually money though I have yet to see any of it. A strongly worded email is currently winging its way to the camp owner...god I love writing a good shitty letter. So cathartic :)

It turned out that when my family arrived they pretty much did the one thing I told them not to do and went to the travel ticket office for some nice advice. Although said advice was really not so nice at all, and they ended up paying €50(!) for a three day travel card. I'm sure these people are targeted or something as EVERY single time I go to the DB (German train people) travel office/helpdesk they try to sell me a more expensive ticket than the one I need. Fuckerzzzzzfrheqt...but anyway, this lead to us really seeing the whatever out of the city, in no particular order and in only three days we went to...

Ammersee - lovely lake with nearby hotchpotch house and fantastical ice cream...

Fasanerie again - once more for schwimming galore :)

Dachau - concentration camp this time as opposed to the beer festival....which my Mum thought had actually been held in the camp..."Well that's a bit disrespectful" haha...

Eis Cafe-ing - as ice cream cafes are a rather unknown phenonenon in the UK (they are EVERYWERE here) we spent 12 euros on an Ice Cream sundae the size of my head and ate it in about 2 minutes flat...

Cycle Path-ing - we hired bikes, which my Mum fell off and neither me or my sister could help her up as we were laughing too much...she then crashed 3 more times, worst. cyclist. ever...

Chinese Tower - of course we did the obligatory trip here and drank a nice pint of cold beer :)

Toy Museum - cutest thing ever, it lives in Marienplatz and if you have an hour and 3 Euros I really recommend it. Loads of toys from through the years, it was truly magical :)

In conclusion it was lovely having them here, and as I'm so tired I know there are a thousand and three things I have forgotten to mention... but after many episodes of Bully Beatdown, soon enough it was time for them to go, and when I put them on the train I felt a little :( ... This lead to a Facebook status that got everyone thinking I was genuinely unhappy haha. Sorry to disappoint you but only the opposite is true these days ;)...in fact, before I swiftly move on from speaking about Facebook outside of Facebook (definitely in my top 5 of social faux pases) I would like to officially retract that little colon/open bracket combo and file it away with "things that I have done that have got me too much attention" - more on this file later, but the evening Mum and Ma left was spent in really good company, and I was so horribly tired that I pretty much passed out afterwards with a warm floaty feeling in my stomach that my quota of girl chat had been comfortably reached :)

The next day, I went for a cycle at about 9pm, spoke to various friends who happened to be nearby, and went down to Thalkirchen for a beer. This is the main area of the Isar that people have little barbeques in, it's deceptively close to my house (about 10 mins by bike) and ever since I walked along this path in my first few weeks here I wanted to sit there and watch the sunset with a group of the very best. When I arrived, it was pretty much dark already, but the company was nice and the talk was funny. This (obviously) entailed then caving into peer pressure and joining in town for a drink, which ended up being muchos late and not massively drunken, but I was pretty much out in a pair of leggings with no covering - something again which is most certainly on the social faux pas list. I had also jumped in the river to cool off after a cycle, so my clothes were wet through and it looked rather like I'd had an accident on bottom and was in a wet t-shirt competition on top. I also woke up covered in croissant crumbs but, I guess it really doesn't matter when you're not trying to impress anyone right?! And on the upside, I didn't get hit on by any random horny travellers (unfortunately a staple happening @ hostel bars) which I must say did put a spring in my step :)

The weekdays after that were pretty uneventful, apart from I was working in the day and working out to the max in my time off. I am determined to be beach-ready in time for Spain in about 3 weeks, and I've been working out upto about 2 hours some days. Which when written down sounds utterly ridiculous, but it's more a case of really enjoying myself and forgetting the time rather than obligation. Really! If only the fat kid I was 10 years ago could meet me now haha, I'd have a few stern words to impart... :p

Friday a friend of mine came back to Germany for a fleeting night, before swanning off to Austria with her aupair family. So, we went for a late night hot chocolate around 9 in the Fraunhoferstr area, which still continues to be my favourite place here. Although originally pegged as an hour or so, another friend arrived and we were there till well gone 11. It was lovely :) and then I went over to someone else's house where a bunch of people were chilling with Mean Girls, again. I happily watched it for the second time in about 3 weeks and also happily accepted the offer of a bed when the rain started trying to knock down buildings. Thank you kind people!

Saturday afternoon saw me sat in a tepee with the dad and the eldest girl, speaking to an Indian descendent, who was firstly one of the most interesting human beings I have ever encountered and secondly had such an beautiful tepee! It was so warm and cosy, and this man lives there in the week to work, returning at weekends to his real house. In between trying to mentally translate what he was saying in French (I'd say I got about 80% which I was rather chuffed with) I did actually begin to nod off as it was just the right temperature and the seat (which he'd made himself) was too comfortable :) it's moments like that, when I meet someone truly interesting that I make a mental note to better myself in whichever way I can. It disturbs me a little that most of my stories from here involve beer in some way, and as a result I'm considering taking a beer holiday...but I'm not 100% quite yet. I've given up drinking successfully before on two occasions, for about 6 months each time, but doing this in a culture based on beer I'm guessing will be rather difficult. I'm still on the fence...

The night before we'd been out to this club called Neuraum, which was OK but there was glass all over the floor and it was HUGE so I seemed to just be walking around a lot trying to find people (unsuccessfully, see: glass and beer). I did that thing I do when I realise how tired I am, and can't stop thinking of a nice comfy bed...in that I just left. I really can't be convinced once that thought arrives, yeah yeah whatever I prefer a nice lie down and a cup of coffee and a book. So sue me :p

As for yesterday, I made serious inroads to Project UBahn, which had been left by the wayside a little of late. As a result I now only have to go to one more location, and then I'll have seen the end of every line haha. Anything to pass the time, and on a more serious note I'd been spending so little time alone recently that it was so nice just to watch the scenery go by, listen to the old iPod (a Reuben renaissance, if you're interested) and simply think to oneself. I'd been feeling a little claustrophobic for reasons that continued to be unknown to me...until I earmarked that few hours to spend some quality Bethy Time and all that just lifted :) I then headed up to Olympiapark to play some incredibly unsuccessful mini golf, climb a hill and view the city (such a great panoramic viewpoint, I will be returning...) and then sit in a shisha bar wrapped in a blanket until I could work up the guts to cast off my blanketty coccoon and steel off into the night.

As for now, I'm feeling a little ill after so many late nights, I slept so badly last night and am becoming something of a night owl again. I need a morning job so this doesn't happen completely, I have worked so hard on my sleeping pattern in the past, and refuse for it to all go downhill just cause I like procrastinating. So I'm going to make a decaf coffee, wrap up in various blankets and rewatch as much of Spaced as I can, as I'm not needed so much today. Heaven...

:)

So, as half-arsedly promised I'm going to elaborate a little on what have essentially been two lists :p today finds me sat once more at the red desk, the rain is raining itself down and my legs are full of that muscular pain you get when you work out too much. Every day when I've returned from camp I've been buzzing on the remnants of a day telling thirteen 9-year-olds what to do - even when I've been practically falling asleep on the train? This excess energy entails me either sitting in front of various screens - pointless as I don't gain anything and feel somehow more awake - or, better, going on an epic bike ride most days to tire myself out physically so that (logically anyway) sleep will arrive. Today is the exception only because I feel the beginnings of a sore throat tickling away, and don't want to be sickington gay for the weekend when I have my very first out of town visitors :)))

Other things then, as camp is busy, and fun and muchos hard but mainly worthwhile, but I don't particularly want to talk about it a lot as all I do every day is be there. I am currently indulging in playing the Sonos ridiculously loud whilst I can, and bopping around in my underwear/towel/etc haha most days. I'm currently having a mini renaissance of all the heavy stuff I used to listen to backalong 3 years or so, Poison The Well...Every Time I Die...Beecher and so on...I have mainly (completely) fallen into the acoustic/pretty music world these days but I must say there's something utterly satisfying about hearing metal played on Bose surround-sound speakers. The sound just goes right through you, awesome ^_^ ...apart from that I re-read the most beautiful thing I have ever read about two days ago, if I can find it somewhere around I'll quote it at the end...and I'm also enjoying the general fitness that's coming my way after all this working out, and have become once more steely in my determinedness to get back to my former fit self. Sometimes having an Iron Will actually does benefit oneself, and in just two weeks I've noticed a marked change and I'd say I only have another half stone to go - plus of course muchos toning which makes the most difference. I feel so much better in general, but know that contentedness is more a state of mind so am trying to surround myself with things that make me the very happiest also. Starting with some of my family who are the lucky Friday visitees :)))

After a really tough week at camp on Friday, me and the other counsellors went for a night out which made me really quite ill come Saturday morning. Don't get me wrong, I like a good pint of cider and I'm so rarely sick, however I didn't have time for a proper dinner (schoolboy error) and knowing people who work in the bars you tend to go to sometimes gets you free shots which don't mix with beer too well. I completely blame that terrible/amazing SHOTS SHOTS song that seemed to always bring shots my way when it was played (funnily enough)...which was about 367 times that night. Argh! However, I didn't do as badly as my poor camp colleague who was escorted home by the Polizei...

Saturday I went to a friend's house for a dinner party (yeah I know, I'z well kultured innit), she had cooked an awesome vegetable curry - it's nice to meet other vegetarians and know you'll be catered for ;). We then (yes, really but I only had one beer) went for a drink at the single best bar I've been here since I arrived! It was this dingy little backstreet place called X - too cool for a mere word name and it was really like someone's house, but with better furniture and darker lighting. I guess I'm just a sucker for fairy lights and foosball tables though, whatev. I will be returning!

I'm sure there's something else...oh! Dachau, which was the next day on Sunday. I headed there after a meeting for the camps, feeling a little stressed from last-minute changes and in need of a chill out with some good faces. Apart from a tagalong in the form of the single WORST individual I have ever met (sample quote..."I feel like I'm being checked out by so many chicks right now"...no he wasn't being funny, sarcastic or charming) this particular objective was achieved, and a lovely time (I hope) was had by all. Dachau Volksfest itself was a warm-up beer festival for the impending madness of Oktoberfest which I can now NOT WAIT for. Let me just put here that I have never felt more like I was in Germany than at the moment I walked through the door to this Bavarian-flag bedecked marquee, 80% of attendees were in Tracht (lederhosen etc) and there were massive wide women carrying 15 tankards of beer each in these really impressive tower constructions that weren't stuck together(!). We danced to the terrible music, did the actions (or tried), got up on our benches and danced our little faces off. It was the nicest end to a rather ridiculous weekend, and once we'd sacked the American tosser off things were definitely a 9 on the Scale of Awesome Things....(the scale goes up to ten, if you care :p)

RIGHT so this now marks the third day I've been attempting to write this, but have mainly been being distracted by writing letters (watch your letterboxes) and watching films as well, of course, as jumping aboard the Workout train. To be quite honest I'm sick of staring at this page, and need to eat some dinner. I found the Dorian Gray quote after much searching, and must admit that this passage is pretty much perfection in writing as far as I'm concerned. I am becoming a Wilde girl through and through.

Until next time...x

...There are few of us who have not sometimes wakened before dawn, either after one of those dreamless nights that make us almost enamoured of death, or one of those nights of horror and misshapen joy, when through the chambers of the brain sweep phantoms more terrible than reality itself, and instinct with that vivid life that lurks in all grotesques, and that lends to Gothic art its enduring vitality, this art being, one might fancy, especially the art of those whose minds have been troubled with the malady of reverie. Gradually white fingers creep through the curtains, and they appear to tremble. In black fantastic shapes, dumb shadows crawl into the corners of the room and crouch there. Outside, there is the stirring of birds among the leaves, or the sound of men going forth to their work, or the sigh and sob of the wind coming down from the hills and wandering round the silent house, as though it feared to wake the sleepers and yet must needs call forth sleep from her purple cave. Veil after veil of thin dusky gauze is lifted, and by degrees the forms and colours of things are restored to them, and we watch the dawn remaking the world in its antique pattern. The wan mirrors get back their mimic life. The flameless tapers stand where we had left them, and beside them lies the half-cut book that we had been studying, or the wired flower that we had worn at the ball, or the letter that we had been afraid to read, or that we had read too often. Nothing seems to us changed. Out of the unreal shadows of the night comes back the real life that we had known. We have to resume it where we had left off, and there steals over us a terrible sense of the necessity for the continuance of energy in the same wearisome round of stereotyped habits, or a wild longing, it may be, that our eyelids might open some morning upon a world that had been refashioned anew in the darkness for our pleasure, a world in which things would have fresh shapes and colours, and be changed, or have other secrets, a world in which the past would have little or no place, or survive, at any rate, in no conscious form of obligation or regret, the remembrance even of joy having its bitterness and the memories of pleasure their pain.

I made this thing a whole lot privater...not really sure why...just got a little creeped out about internet presences and such. There you go. That's that. This is this. Life is life. Etc.

Not much else to say here apart from this week has been tough tough tough. I'll elaborate a little more once I have the energy to, but lets say it involves me looking after a bunch of 10 6-8 year olds, three of which are pretty painful and use that brush to tar the other 7 who are a complete delight. Still, last day tomorrow...

Also, I should be going to some tradition German beer fest this weekend. Get the lederhosen out! I have yet to purchase any. I'm gonna stick out like a sore thumb...

Sweet dreams alles,

A blog without a blogger, a sad affair indeed. After somewhat of a (...n improptu) hiatus I'm sat at the bright red desk with many a word working its' way down my arm, from brain to fingertip...and on to computer screen. The phone is ringing but it's a freephone number and i STILL don't have the confidence to speak on the phone auf Deutsch, my final hurdle. I'll be working on it, someday.

Coffee in hand time, then. Life, and all who sail in her. The other post from the undisclosed location was, in fact typed at home...just to clear that one up. The outdoor play was in Bristol, I subsequently had the most fun night where I went to school in Butlinstown - which is very truly a feat worth writing down. I rounded things off with My First Road Trip up to the Derbyshire Dales and the wonder of Y Not Festival. It was wonderful, the light was just spectacular at points, the music fairly exquisite...the setting was remote and it rained like a bitch but I couldn't have been happier. +10 life points and a fair few notches on the old Laughing About Stupid Stuff Post :)

On my return back to Germanland, I somewhat missed the beginning of things due to my rather large lack of sleep. After catching up with where I was, I (in no particular order) loaded my German mobile with credit, visited the Library Bus again, found a really cute pair of 50s style red polka dot shoes for 5 EUROS, walked all night to find the single worst club I have been in here so far, became rather enamoured with the concept of night swimming, spent a whole day lying down watching MTV auf Deutsch, dreamt once more of Morocco (or at least the Moroccan bar they had at Tollwood), went to a Girls' sleepover complete with lashings of Mean Girls, was reminded how funny Mean Girls really is, took the train to deepest Zorneding and a lovely afternoon barbeque-ing, took another train signposted to Fitness via Exercise, enjoyed deleting a bunch of people off Facebook rather too much, sat in a cornfield and watched the sun disappear behind the trees, set up Skype fully, and ate rather too much dry cereal from the box.

The next two weeks see me somewhat more employed in that I have a summer job here. The first day was stressful via 3 x fights (hence the cornfield), but today was just schweet and I hope it sets the tone for the other days........we'll see.

Anyway, I would severely like to write more but the Exercise train is leaving. I just wanted to note it down before I went so that I don't forget a thing...I will attempt to remember to elaborate at some point in the future, promise. Kisseszzzxx

Argh! Life has done its perpetual life-type thing and taken me away with it for two and a half whole weeks... the family have gone away on Urlaub and taken the computer away with them so, although much has happened in this fairly small period its been reduced to bullet points that have sat not so neatly in the back of my travel journal... until such time as I lay my grubby fingers upon my rather fancy new baby pink netbook, ie now, its sweeeeeeeeeeet :) and so are you for bearing with me until rightaboutnow :)

Firstly, today finds me rather confused due to overtiredness. After going to watch a play in some outdoor theatre (where? now that's what they call undiscloseable information until...about 5 days time as it happens) i ended up out till about 2, rising at 8. I then went out and about, again at an undisclosed location, with some of the very best, getting home about 3 this morning. Therefore things like ordering the day and generally walking/breathing/being are proving rather hard, I'm desperate for a nap, and the fact some crappy little critter has decided to bite chunks out of my poor torso just makes the whole affair rather too upsetting for my taste. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Therefore, to minimise the distress to my poor nonfunctioning brain, I'm not even going to bother joining up the points I wanted to make into any sort of sequential sense, and instead am going to just copy the points I hurriedly scribbled down in pencil. You call this lazy, I call it an economical timesaving idea of maximus genoisity. Heh

First up,

FASANERIE
I went to a lake and swam in the proper outdoors, just like Ray Mears. It was most fantabulous and just the right temperature. Lots of sunbathing Germans were there (not naked, more about this later though. blegh) as they don't live nowhere near no beach dahn sarf innit, but the beach atmosphere was certainly recreated, acceeee. Me and my companions swam from one side of the lake, to the other and back, and debated comandeering a German lady's water raft. Then realised we were outnumbered 3 to about 384...so changed our minds. Note to self = next time bring raft or other such lilo object.

NIGHT OUT
A few beers in the lake later (yuhuh classy), we were heading for mine and then the nightlife of Muenchentown. There's this club called Cord which is better on a Friday than a Saturday, but still indeed passable on a Saturday. A kind of electro indie mashup thing, and yes I felt like a twat writing that sentence. A friend even bought some Proper Germans from her office, and I spoke to them a lot and although feedback was that it was a bit strange I was still understood, KAPOW life points time... I award myself 50 :)) Not much else to say about this night apart from I danced, had a few beers and generally a merry old time. Ja

TOLLWOOD
Amazing! A little fairylighted festival in the Olympiapark which is on twice a year at Christmas and in summer, and free for anyone to have a wanderaround in the day or evening (until about 1am when it closes for the night). There's pretty much anything that you can think of, loads of different types of music and a recreation of a moroccan street inside a tent, complete with cushiony bar and shisha pipes. So atmospheric, and indeed the best place to take photos, if either time I went I had remembered to bring my camera. Loser

SCREWY U BAHNS
Imagine getting on the last train home and going one stop, then being told by transport police to get off, therefore being stuck in the city. Imagine then calling a friend and going to a bar instead. Yeah...imagine that. Fun night though, even despite my complete faildom with the public transport around here. All trains and trams should know that I'm a not-very-secret transport geek, why don't they return the love :(((

MUSIC SWAPS WITH STRANGERS
I met an American boy with ADD and his girlfriend, and he gave me a list of music that makes his mouth smile. It's all frickin awesome (so far)! I only hope they both liked my list as much, wherever in the world they are now. I therefore highly endorse music swaps with complete strangers, even if it's just for a cheap laugh :p

END OF GERMAN SCHOOL
We went to a Japanese restaurant, and it was sweet and it was cheap. I'll miss them, and more than anything miss having something to sleep in for and miss. Gives your life more purpose, see...

SUMMER JOB
I will officially be freelancing for an English teaching summer camp throughout August...my group is for 6-8 year olds, we'll be playing games and generally acting like twats, and I will be being paid for this. First step on the ladder and all that :) I've also had a couple more interviews for part time morning jobs to fit around my aupairing (one of which would certainly generate funny things to write about :p), so we'll see how that goes....need money plz :(

NAKED SUNBATHERS
Imagine a nice little date with Dorian Gray at the Isar, ruined completely by sunbathing wrinkly old naked Germans on the opposite riverbank. He wasn't even closing his legs! Safe to say, I had a quick swim then scarpered, there was also some caveman type character in a loincloth who kept hitting and poking the surrounding trees with a stick. Takes all sorts?

OK, this has taken every scrap of effort and concentration and so I'm off to lie down and generally be inactive. I might also buy an ice cream. That is all, hoping you are indeed well and happy, let me know your news as I can't ever get away from the feeling, when blogging, that this is all so terribly self-indulgent...

Bis bald xxxxxxx
